Getting Star Alliance Gold has never been that easy! Here are all the details:
TAP Air Portugal, a member of Star Alliance is now offering a status match into their mileage program TAP Miles&GO.
Until March 31, 2020, the offer is available for Skyteam, Oneworld, and selected airlines.
Miles&GO status Match
With this status match, you are given status for up to six months, through September 30, 2020. Then to renew status beyond that you need to:
- Earn 10,000 status miles to maintain Silver
- Earn 25,000 status miles to maintain Gold

Match by Joining Club TAP Miles&GO Program
The minimum fee for join “Club TAP Miles&GO” is €99 per year. This gives you extra bonus miles compared to the free program.
You can join the Club TAP Miles&GO program with the attached linked.
Match by Purchasing TAP Miles&GO Miles
After joining the TAP Miles&GO program, you must purchase miles. The minimum transaction is €70 for 8,000 miles, a one-time fee that is cheaper for the sole purpose of getting the status match.

Conclusion
In my opinion, Star Alliance has one of the most interesting elite statuses among the three major alliances. Usually, attaining this tier will cost you thousands of USD.
TAP Portugal gives you the opportunity to get this status at just €70 which is amazing! I strongly recommend you match your status into this program, even if it is just for lounge access. (of course only if you can).
